  • General Cleanup from feedback on 1.0
  • Help Documentation

DeepEarth is built upon Microsoft’s Silverlight 2.0 platform and the DeepZoom (MuliScaleImage) control. DeepEarth is implemented completely in C# 3.5. Version 1.1 continued to solidify the 1.0 release which concentrated on a solid, stable, base platform for us (and you) to build upon. At its core, it builds on these innovative technologies to provide an architecture for bringing layers of services, data providers, and your own custom mapping elements together into and impressive user experience. This is what you need to get an interactive, native Silverlight 2.0, maps into your application today.

For access to the Virtual Earth Tile System the project uses the fully supported VE Web Service and Client Tokens. In order for you to run the code locally you need to sign up for your own developer account at dev.live.com and put your credentials in the web.config file.

“The Use of this product does not include license to the Microsoft® Virtual Earth™ Platform. If your application does not comply with the Microsoft® Virtual Earth™ Terms of Use you may contact a Microsoft licensing specialist to acquire rights to use the platform outside the documented terms of use.”
