DeepEarth in Prism

Hello,
we are using deepearth controls with BingMapsToolkit and we’d like to know if it’s possible to use this project as a module in Prism.

In experimenting this, we find some problems about the property MapInstance of all Map page controls.
In fact, every control uses the setMapInstance(mapName) method, that calls
Utilities.FindVisualChildByName<MapCore>(Application.Current.RootVisual, mapname).
This works as a single silverlight user interface application, but it have problems as a Prism module
(in this context Application.Current.RootVisual is the Shell, and the Utilities method doesn’t reach the right child control inside the module).
Is it wrong?

Is there a method to use DeepEarth controls in Prism?

Thanks.
