Refreshing overlay on map

I'm using DeepEarth with my own custom tile source on top of the base map (added by calling map.BaseLayer.Overlays.Add(new MyTileSource()). 
One problem that I'm encountering is that I'm unable to refresh just the overlay. When I call the map.RefreshSource method it refreshes both the overlay and the underlying base map.

Is there anyway to refresh just the overlay?
