hightlight image and add a hyperlink

Sep 8, 2008 at 7:55 PM
Hi

With respect to the discussion http://www.codeplex.com/deepearth/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=34942
I have added a callout and added another deep zoom application in the call out with 50 images. All this works perfectly fine :)

Now i want to be able to highlight the image that is being clicked in the callout and then is there a way to add a hyperlink to the image. Basically we are trying to achieve something similar to http://www.kbb.com/kbb/PerfectCarFinder/PhotoEdition.aspx

Please let me know how we could achieve this.

Thanks
Chinkul.

Is the hyperlink that you want to add an external link, or just to navigate to that image within your deepZoom collection?

I have a deepZoom sample that has a collection of images and their respective thumbnails. When I select a thumbnail the corresponding full image is selected as the deepZoom image. I believe this is what you want to achieve, am I correct? The sample can be found below:

Let me know if there is anything else that you need help with!

The application that you have built is really good,  but that is not what i wanted.

What i want is,
1. All the images will be shown in a single tile as an ordinary deep zoom app.
2. When you click on one of the image it should get highlighted.
3. There should be a hyperlink at the bottom of the image, when clicked on that, it should open up a new url.

I hope it is clear now.

Thanks

Glad you both like my app!

chinkul, I believe what you want is fairly simple, however I am unable to write a sample for you at the moment. The basic idea is this:
  • Each of your images (a subimage class) needs to have a style applied to them that has a trigger for a selected property (or IsMouseOver property) that will then show the image highlighted (i.e. a border around the image)
  • That property can also trigger a hyperlink that is data bound to some property on each subimage where the actual hyperlink is stored.
Hopefully that helps a little bit. If I get time I will try to write a quick sample for you, best of luck and let us know what you come up with!
